Supporting employee payroll within multiple storage sites throughout multiple States and Provinces, the Payroll Specialist ensures employees are paid accurately and on time.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Audit all employee change transactions by comparing Supporting documents to Transaction Acknowledgment Form to UKG (Payroll System)
• Review, reconcile and process various programs including but not exclusive of Group Retirement, Group Benefit and WCB reporting
• Provide guidance on payroll matters to internal People & Culture Team
• Provide policy guidance and interpretation for multiple states & provinces
• Process Payroll for both Semi-Monthly (Salaried Employees) and Bi-Weekly (Hourly Employees) schedules
• Review and reconcile various upload files to UKG, including but not exclusive of time files, incentive files and on-call reporting.
• Prepare monthly payroll remittances, and taxable benefits
• Regularly monitor vacation balances and sick time administration for all employees through UKG (Payroll System)
• Issue ROE's, T-4 slips, T2200, W2 and other tax related documents
• Respond to employee's payroll questions, issues, and concerns
• Run payroll time-related reports for various department needs
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in full cycle payroll processing in the US & Canada
• Experience with an employer with multi provincial Canadian and multi state US operations
• Can demonstrate extensive knowledge of legal requirements, regulations, and standards surrounding payroll, along with relevant accounting practices
• Can work efficiently, independently and demonstrates strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
• Preference for candidates Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
• Preference to have experience with UltiPro (UKG)
